for real
wonder, amaze
aqua blue
see the sea
bright yellow
see the sun
from where it began
know it within

big monkey follows
the beast
while woman is lost
in jungle
when it’s time to eat
we have no feast
only black coffee
beans and rice
we eat of them daily
we eat of them thrice
trying so hard to survive
one not the only

yesterday’s tomorrow
born of today
awake and walk
from great dismal swamp
cold, hungry, tired, and alone
discover the wonder
to unsighted fish be man
to sighted man be angel
all born whole
awaiting winged flight
to home and beyond
