The Cross

CelticCross

Will your tears become only
salty water for dry mouth
will you cry out for mercy
with no voice to speak
shall eyes be so heavy
blinded by pain
that you no longer
dare dream to see

within all persecution
we carry the Cross
our relationship to God
our relationship to man
seeking the relationship
to survive forever
God to man, from the top down
man to God, from the bottom up

man’s relationship to man
left to right, right to left
what is left, because it ain’t right
our relationship with the Cross
dictates the mandates
of salvation and suffering
when we treat our brother
as we would have God treat us

he that should want mercy
mercy must give
he who would wish end to suffering
end from suffering must give
when we see ourselves in the eyes
of our fellow man
then we see God looking back at us
and we bear our brother’s Cross
