Winter Life

cem2-bw-pd

Winter life stolen sun
left barren tree lifeless grey
winds with time faceless line
thought discontent and dismay
storied soldier hallowed ground
unfurled flag where maiden wept
memories forever worn
inside her heart were kept

no hill to rise from unknown depth
sadness bury with weary tie
no summer day to call thy own
as cloud December lay down beside
with reason many excuse none
lost truth war of endless death
creation circles forgotten grave
having taken away last breath

cold tears faint heaven rain
black soul one loss we feel
a love so cherished many day
buried deep lay in that field
a son no more no mother’s child
nothing held but dirt and ash
last leaf of life fallen down
petition God these things must pass

if sleep should come then dream could rise
hurtful memories would choose to rest
Satan’s war cast out her God
saying hell no I won’t forget
soldier lay barren grey
treasured tree without a leaf
clouded sky bring mournful cry
eternal cursing all that be.
